Itinerary

1st day:Rome. Fiumicino airport arrival.

Arrival of the participants at Rome airport, accomodation, dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.

2nd day:Cassino (Montecassino Abbey) - Royal Palace of Caserta

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Montecassino for a suggestive guided tour of the Benedictine Abbey of Montecassino, the cradle of western monasticism. A journey to discover the history and beauty of the oldest Benedictine monastery in Italy, founded by San Benedetto da Norcia, which stands on the top of Montecassino. Free lunch provided by the participants.
We will continue to Caserta and the afternoon will be dedicated to the visit of the imposing Royal Palace of Caserta, commissioned by Charles of Bourbon, of enormous proportions, to emphasize the opulence of the new Kingdom of Naples. An enchantment of 47,000 square meters of surface, 1200 rooms, 1900 windows, 34 staircases and a park over 2.5 km long with an involving beauty, where over three centuries of landscape art have earned him the title of «the most beautiful garden in Europe». At the end hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight stay.

3rd day:Naples - Pompeii

Breakfast at the hotel. A lively morning to spend in the wonderful “Napule”, from Spaccanapoli to chic shops, through churches and museums and imitating the favorite pastimes of the Neapolitans, up to lose the head and the throat with all their delicacies: baba, sfogliatelle, pizza, coffee and much more! Guided tour of Naples starting from the monumental Piazza Plebiscito and crossing the scenic Galleria Umberto I to admire,from the outside, the main monuments that make Naples a beautiful city: Teatro San Carlo, Palazzo Reale, Castel dell’Ovo and the Maschio Angioino. Free lunch provided by the participants.
In the afternoon guided tour of the Archaeological Excavations of Pompeii, the city of art dissected par excellence. At the end of the visit, hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight stay.

4th day:Castel San Vincenzo - Fornelli

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Castel San Vincenzo, an enchanting Molise village, rich in history and culture surrounded by the emerald lake of the same name. Guided tour of the ancient Benedictine abbey, one of the most important archaeological sites in Europe about the Middle Ages, and the new abbey, where you will be fascinated by the incredible view of the arches that push the visitor’s eye on the beautiful abbey. Free lunch provided by the participants. In the afternoon a guided tour of Fornelli, a charming medieval village in the Molise hinterland, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. At the end of the visit, hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight stay.

5th day:Larino - Termoli

Breakfast in the hotel, accommodation by GT bus and departure for Larino. Meeting with the guide and guided tour of the village, which still preserves important Roman remains of a thousand-year history: the amphitheater (outside), the Roman mosaics, the sumptuous palaces, the noble villas and the cathedral of San Pardo, one of the most important works of art of the Romanesque style. Free lunch provided by the participants.
In the afternoon we will continue towards Termoli, a charming seaside village surrounded by ancient walls. Guided tour of the lovely ancient village, among suggestive alleys overlooking the sea, retracing its history and admiring the Cathedral of Santa Maria della Purificazione and the Swabian Castle. Afterwards a pleasant walk on the village-terrace of Termoli, to admire a beautiful sunset framed by the ancient and fascinating “trabucchi”, being carried away by the sound of the sea and the pleasant evening breeze. At the end departure, hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight stay.

6th day:Amalfi Coast -panoramic tour by bus-

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Castellammare di Stabia, where it will begin the wonderful tour of the “land of lemons”. Passing through the villages of the Sorrento peninsula overlooking the Gulf of Naples, you will enjoy a happy mix of colors, scents and breathtaking views. Panoramic stop on the panoramic terrace of Sorrento that, on a blue of enchantment, will give a wide and extraordinary view of the city. Then we will move towards Positano, known to all as “the corner of paradise”, which has always been a holiday resort of extraordinary beauty, followed by a panoramic stop and an optional tasting of granite. Continuing along the narrow streets of the jagged coastline we will reach Conca dei Marini, home of the famous Emerald Grotto, which can be optionally visited.
Once in Amalfi, free lunch provided by the participants. There will be a visit to the historic center of the enchanting town, adorned by the monumental complex of Sant’Andrea, the Cathedral, the Paradise Cloister, the Basilica of the Crucifix, as well as the famous port that made it a Maritime Republic. Continuing the tour we will meet in sequence the towns of Minori and Maiori, to complete the wonderful excursion to Vietri sul Mare, the town of ceramics.
At the end accommodation in the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

7th day:Rome

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Rome. Meeting with the guide and guided tour of the “Ancient Rome”, the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine (outside). Then we will continue visiting the Campidoglio, the Church of the Ara Coeli, until we will reach Piazza Venezia dominated by the imposing Vittoriano with the Altare della Patria (Altar of the Fatherland). Free lunch provided by the participants. In the evening accomodation in the hotel and dinner.
At 9:00 p.m. it will start the panoramic tour by coach through the emblematic places of the capital illuminated. We will continue the fascinating guided tour of the city walking through the most beautiful squares and fountains of Renaissance and Baroque Rome: Piazza Navona with the fountain of Four Rivers made by Bernini, Piazza Montecitorio with the seat of the Chamber of Deputies, Trevi Fountain, Piazza di Spagna with the majestic Fountain of the Barcaccia and the spectacular Spanish steps, made famous by the film “Vacanze Romane”, the Pantheon and Piazza del Popolo. At the end of the visit accomodation in the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

8th day:Rome Fiumicino

Breakfast at the hotel, and departure for Rome Fiumicino Airport, for the return of the participants.
